Smaller Canadian study showed some correlation between having difficulty with recall and recognition and/or reduced cortical thickness on MRI, as a link to progressive dementia of the preclinical Alzheimers type, over a course of two years. Those that had both MRI changes and difficulty with those specific neuropsychological tests, had a 87.5% chance of predicting evolution to Alzheimers, allowing for earlier treatment.
