Job Summary:

As an Oncology/Infusion RN in this outpatient clinic, you will play a vital role in providing specialized care to patients with Myeloma, Lymphoma, and Leukemia. This position requires clinical expertise in oncology nursing, including chemotherapy/biotherapy administration and vascular access management. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, empathetic, and passionate about improving the lives of those affected by cancer.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer ONS-approved chemotherapy and biotherapy treatments safely and accurately
  • Perform comprehensive oncology assessments and ongoing patient monitoring
  • Initiate and manage peripheral IVs and vascular access devices
  • Collaborate with oncologists, advanced practice providers, and support staff to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, side effects, and symptom management
  • Accurately document all care and communications in the EPIC electronic medical record system
  • Monitor and manage infusion reactions and other urgent patient needs
  • Maintain a clean and organized infusion space, adhering to infection control protocols
  • Actively contribute to a positive team culture focused on continuous improvement, compassion, and collaboration
Requirements:
  • Licensure/Certifications:
    • Current Texas RN license
    • AHA BLS Certification
    • ONS Chemotherapy-Biotherapy Provider Card
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 2 years of recent Oncology/Infusion RN experience
    • Proficiency in oncology patient assessments, chemotherapy administration, vascular access management, and peripheral IV skills
  • Preferred:
    • OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)
    • EPIC charting experience within the last 6 months
    • Familiarity with Alaris IV pumps
